Small in Size Big for Holidays

If it’s tranquil beaches with excellent surfing and swimming you are looking for, then the small village of Scotts Head has it all.

The squeaky clean MAIN BEACH has everything: great surfing for the board and body-boarder and yet suitable for children and those with less experience in the surf.  There’s even a surf school where you can get lessons and board hire.

The ultra-light sand is perfect for sand modelling or just lazing around getting that tan. It also has access to showers and toilets, picnic tables, barbeques and a children’s playground. The beach is patrolled from October to Easter but remember swim between the flags.

LITTLE BEACH or WAKKI BEACH are deep water front beaches where the surf is steeper and more powerful. These beaches are not recommended for swimming. The two headlands are great spots to watch dolphins and migrating humpback whales. At times it is even possible to hear the song of the humpback whale from here.

Other attractions in Scotts Head are the Bowling and Recreation Club where Tennis, Basketball and Netball Courts are available for the energetic holiday maker.

Scotts Head offers a range of accommodation options: Caravan Park with cabins, powered and unpowered sites, a dormitory-style youth centre, motel, Bed and Breakfasts, Units, Apartments, Holiday Houses and luxury villas are all available.

Whether you are travelling from north or south simply turn off the Pacific Highway 15 kilometres south of Macksville at the Scotts Head signpost and follow the road beside Warrell Creek for 10 kilometres into town.
